The story of TOAS begun with Vanha Domus back in 1960 when the first students moved in. This is the first location of TOAS and it has an authentic feel about it. With studios with common kitchens, small family apartmens, studios and few shared apartments, Vanha Domus is one of the most affordable locations of TOAS. Popular among students who value low rent, relatively short distances and a swimming hall in the proximity of their home.
As being the oldest TOAS location, the age of the building is visible in the building itself as well as in the apartments. It is recommended to visit the offered room before signing the tenancy agreement, to have a good idea of the condition. More details from TOAS Housing office.
The plan development project of Vanha Domus is making progress and we will inform when there is more specific information on the matter. The renovation project of the A building of Vanha Domus has started and the new apartments will be completed in 2024.

Flats with a kitchen include a stove and a refrigerator-chiller or a refrigerator-freezer. Flats with minikitchens feature a small fridge, a cooker top with two hotplates, and a sink. A mini-kitchen does not include an oven. The shared kitchens on each floor include a standard cooker and an oven, two refrigerator-chillers, a sink, and a microwave.
Some apartments have a connection for a laundry machine. The suitability of the laundry machine can only be found out on the spot. Flats are equipped with all light fixtures and fire alarms required by the law.
The property storages are not numbered for apartments so tenants have to choose an available storage, buy a lock on it and mark the storage with their apartment number to show who it belongs to. Tenants have to change fuses by themselves. Waste collection units are located in the court yard.
