Uusi Domus

Uusi Domus is the little brother of Vanha Domus. Previously the building has been used as a summer hotel and also as a TOAS office. Nowadays, in addition to having apartments, it has different business premises, a gym and a sauna. There is also a common room and a roof terrace for the tenants’ use.

Four new apartments have been built in the summer of 2019 to the space of a previous kindergarten. The new apartments carry the address Joukahaisenkatu 5 B. Entrance backside of the house via Joukahaisenkatu.
Note! There is a restaurant on the street level in the building that can cause noise nuisance to the apartments.

The kitchen includes a standard stove, a sink, a cooker hood (connected to the building’s ventilation system) and a refrigerator-chiller/freezer. The apartments with mini-kitchens include a small stove with two cooking plates, a sink, a cooker hood and a small refrigerator-chiller. Mini-kitchens do not include an oven. There are no ovens in any of the 1st floor apartments. Some apartments have a connection for a washing machine and/or a dishwasher. The suitability of the dishwasher or a washing machine can only be found out on the spot. Flats are equipped with light fixtures in the kitchen desktop and bathroom as well as fire alarms required by the law.

First floor apartments have different materials than rest of the building. Apartments 1-4 have been built later, with different surfaces. See images.

The property storages are not numbered according to the apartments so a tenant can choose one of the free storages for his/her use. Tenants need to get their own lock to the property storage door and mark the storage with the apartment number.

Waste collection units are located in the court yard. Tenants have to change fuses by themselves. There is a spacious rooftop terrace next to the 8th floor common area.
