Personal data use
TOAS’s apartment rental activities require processing personal data. The processing of personal data is based on the customer relationship, on another appropriate connection or on the customer’s consent. Personal data shall be used for example for managing customer relationships, customer satisfaction surveys and other surveys and communications, apartment maintenance tasks and the marketing of apartments. TOAS shall pay particular attention to the protection of the customer’s privacy and personal data and it shall comply with the good data processing practice.
Personal data shall primarily be collected from the customer. In addition, personal data shall be collected from for example Suomen Asiakastieto Oy’s credit information register and the Finnish Population Register Centre’s Population Information System. Furthermore, TOAS may collect data on the devices with which its website is used by using cookies and other similar technologies, such as web analytics. The collected data shall generally not be disclosed outside of TOAS, except to collaboration partners described in the data protection principles and in situations in which the owner of an apartment changes.
According to the Personal Data Act, everyone shall have the right to inspect their data stored in a register. The inspection request may not be made via telephone. Instead, it must be made in writing and signed by the concerned person, and a copy of an official identity card must be attached to the request. When requesting data, you must provide your name, address and personal identity code and express whether you want data regarding a certain matter, all data or data from a certain time period.
The customer shall have the right to demand rectification, erasure or supplementation of their data which is erroneous, obsolete, incomplete or unnecessary for the purposes of the processing and which is contained in the register. The right to prohibit processing means a person’s right to prohibit the controller to process personal data for the purposes of direct marketing. A previously given consent for direct marketing may also be cancelled at any time by sending an email concerning the prohibition to asuntotoimisto@toas.fi.
