Do not let faucets or the toilet waste water

29.03.2021

TOAS is committed to sustainable development and to lowering its energy consumption by 10% in the next 10 years. Minimising water use is one important goal that each of us can strive for to lessen the strain on the environment. Water use also has a direct impact on the costs related to our apartments. This, in turn, affects rent levels, so it is good to use water carefully and to make sure that faucets and toilets do not leak.

One slowly leaking toilet can use up to two litres of water per minute. This could result in a thousand cubic litres of lost water per year, which costs EUR 4,000 per toilet. In short, a lot of water and money may be going down the drain for no good reason,

so keep an eye on the equipment that uses water in your apartment and submit a fault report to TOAS as soon as you notice leaks. It may sometimes be difficult to notice a leaking toilet, so here’s a pro tip. Place a piece of toilet paper on the back wall inside the toilet bowl. If the toilet paper becomes wet, the toilet is leaking.

We track the hourly water use in each TOAS location, but we cannot detect leaks in individual apartments. Because of this, it is important that you submit a fault report, so that we can fix any leaks as soon as possible.
