Make the Most of Your StayYou will get the most out of your student living by participating and sharing your wishes

Tenant Activity

Come and create the atmosphere in your housing location!

Tenant activities offer tenants a way to shape their living environment to reflect their own needs and wishes. Participation is voluntary, and everyone can contribute according to their energy and skills.

Tenant Democracy

Tenant democracy gives tenants the opportunity to influence the comfort and improvement of their housing location and its surroundings. Tenant democracy is based on the law regarding joint administration in rental buildings.

Tenant Meetings

You can get involved in tenant activities by attending the tenant meeting held in your building. These meetings address current issues and elect the Tenant Committee for the building.

Tenant Committee

The Tenant Committee represents the tenants of the housing location and ensures that everyone feels at home. The committee decides how the funds granted for tenant activities are used. Share your ideas and suggestions for improvement with the committee or join in and make a difference!

You can participate by attending tenant meetings or social evenings. Many Tenant Committees organize events and social gatherings such as pre-Christmas parties, barbecues, and yard clean-ups.

Tenant Committees announce meetings and events on noticeboards, on their social media channels, and in tenant newsletters.

The Tenant Committee does not deal with matters relating to the flats themselves or their maintenance and repair. Tenant Committees communicate with TOAS regarding matters that concern several tenants.

TOAS is committed to increasing tenant satisfaction by listening to suggestions on practical everyday matters.

It is important that tenants always submit a fault report whenever something noteworthy arises in their flat or building!

NEUVIS – Advisory Board for Tenant Committees

Each Tenant Committee selects one representative for the Advisory Board for Tenant Committees (NEUVIS), which acts as a collaborative body between all Tenant Committees and TOAS. NEUVIS members represent all TOAS tenants and together discuss issues concerning TOAS properties.

NEUVIS members meet about once a month.

Clubrooms, Hobby Facilities, and Loanable Equipment

TOAS locations have various hobby facilities and items available for loan. These items vary by location and can be influenced through the Tenant Committees. Clubrooms and lounges are available to all residents. Some locations also have small gyms maintained by the Tenant Committees.

Contact

You can find the contact details for your locations Tenant Committee in the omaTOAS portal under the “MYBUILDING” section. If there is no active Tenant Committee at your location, you will also find instructions here on how to start the first meeting!

Not all locations have a Tenant Committee. In such cases, a trusted contact person acts as a liaison with TOAS.
