February’s seasonal tip
24.02.2022Now that we have inspected the contents of the freezer, it is time to go through the kitchen cupboard.
- Empty all kitchen cupboards and wipe them clean.
- Place items back into the cupboards while checking their best before dates.
- Put the newest products at the back and plan how to use up the older products before they expire.
Cooking is easier when the most common food items are quickly and easily available and similar products are grouped together. Knowing what and how much of each product is in the closet will prevent food waste and also help you save money. You may find enough ingredients for several meals in your cupboards, so you don’t even have to go to the shop straight away.
Even if you’re not passionate about cooking, it’s worth keeping some extra stock at home. You should always have, for example, some fresh fruit and vegetables, pasta, rice, canned food, crispbread and nuts in your cupboard.
