Remember to sort the holiday season’s waste and garbage correctly!
20.12.2022Cooking, gift wrapping and burning candles produce many kinds of waste and garbage during the holiday season. See the Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto waste management’s check list for sorting waste and garbage during the holiday season:
- Bio equals environmental power! Paper napkins, withered Christmas flowers and leftover food are sorted in the biowaste.
- Do not pour ham fat down the drain. Solidify the ham fat and put it in biowaste or mixed waste.
- Save the gift wrappings and packaging for next year. Broken gift wrappings and ribbons belong to mixed waste.
- Boxes of chocolates and advent calendars are cardboard, and the plastic fillers inside them belong to the plastic waste.
- Christmas cards are sorted in the waste paper collection.
- Candle waste belongs to mixed waste.
- Sort the aluminium covers from around tealight candles, outdoor candles and memorial candles into metal waste, or if they are plastic, into mixed waste.
